Markdown Monday Linky Party!

I'm teaming up with Kelly and Kim's Kindergarten Kreations for this fab Linky Party! I've been SO neglectful to this dear blog - things are so hectic! Here in Arkansas, rock climbing season is in full effect, which means I will not have my husband for many many weekends. Cleaning, baking, and TpTing commence!

For Markdown Monday, I wanted to highlight (what I think) are fantastic little emergent reader books. One thing I know from last year, my kiddos LOVED reading. I couldn't find and make enough emergent readers for them. Seeing their faces light up when they "got" a word or read an entire sentence just fills me with joy - doesn't it you!? I've been slowly creating these awesome themed readers for my Kinders (however they could easily be used for first!) and I'm so excited to share them. I have a few different versions.. please check them out!

For this Markdown Monday, these emergent readers are half off! These books are a steal at $1.00 each and I can't wait to add a few more to the collection. Just click on each picture to take you to their listing!

For all of my fantastic bloggy readers, here's a freebie! This is a sample of the above mentioned books. Enjoy!!

Stitch Fix Friday!

Hi!

It's StitchFix day!

Don't know what Stitch Fix is? You're missing out! StitchFix is an online styling service where a personal stylist picks out five items based on a style profile you create. I tell EVERYONE about it! Here is my Stitch Fix #3...

Item #1: Kensie Jeans - Johnny Tall Length Skinny Jean $88 - I asked for a pair of jeans in this month's Fix. I saw one of Stitch Fixs' Blog Posts on denim, so I thought I'd try them out! They did not disappoint. I normally only like skinnies - they fit great in boots, but you can also wear them alone. My chicken legs and french fry shaped body thanks me. These black jeans will go great with so much!

Item #2: Vivienne Floral Print Sleeveless Blouse $68 - Now, I would NEVER spend this much money on a shirt. Ever. StitchFix has kind of spoiled me - I've found that quality items do sometimes cost a little more. Now, don't get me wrong - Target Style will always have my heart. But... it's nice to have some nice pieces. Does that make sense?

HOLY MOLY this shirt. I can't get enough. As soon as I saw the colors, the fabric, the gorgeousness... it was mine. It's beautiful and has so many uses. It also came with a blue tank top for underneath, which I will be able to wear with other things as it is detachable. I never want to take it off.

Item #3: 41Hawthorn Longsleeve Knit Cardigan $28 - I love cardigans, and this one is no exception. The color is beautiful and will go great with many different things. At $28, I couldn't not get it!

Item #4: Renee C Catriona Ruched Asymmetrical Fitted Skirt $44 - I had asked for a simple black pencil skirt in this month's fix, as it is something I'm lacking and a piece that I would spend a little more money on as a "staple". Unfortunately, they didn't have one, so my Stylist said we could try this out. Unfortunately, it just wasn't my cup of tea. The asymmetrical cut just isn't my style and it was a little too dressy for my taste and job. It was a good try, but a pass.

Item #5: Lyrie Textured Polka Dot Fit & Flare Dress $68 - I liked the material of this dress, but it was almost too small in the chest area. Also, I was just unsure where I would wear it to. I didn't care for the side zipper either. This was also a pass.

SO! I got three things, the most I've gotten from a Fix. I really feel like we're narrowing down to my "perfect Fix" and maybe the next one will be it! I can't wait. Want to try StitchFix? Click on the picture below - I'll get a $25 credit for referring you! :)

I love seeing other people's Fixes. Do you have a blog post of your Fix? Send me the link in the comments! I want to see.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Stitch Fix #3 (Notice I'm missing #2?)

I'm sorry blog. I severely neglect you.

It's Stitch Fix time ya'll!

So, if you notice.. my #2 Stitch Fix is not posted. It's MIA. Gone. Lost. We don't know what happened to it. At 12:07 one day last week, it was on my doorstep (we think). When I got home from work, it was no longer there. We don't know where my little box of joy went, but THAT'S OKAY. Stitch Fix's amazing customer service came to the rescue. They scheduled me for a new Fix, ASAP, and it was on my doorstep today (I left at lunch to go pick it up, just to be sure). My personal stylist, Yanting, did everything she could to even keep the same items in this box. There was only one she couldn't replace. How great is that?!

Here we go! Isn't it pretty?

Item #1: Garland Geo Print Maxi Skirt $58 - This skirt was very cute. I love maxi skirts and dresses and my stylist took note (throughout the whole Fix) that I am really into patterns right now. The colors were great and so was the pattern, but it was just a tad too small/clingy. I felt like I could find something in the store similar, for cheaper. It was a pass.

Item #2 - Lyra 3/4 Sleeve Jersey Mini Chevron Tunic Dress $58 - When I first saw this dress, I didn't just dislike it... I HATED it. The color reminded me of Halloween. The material was a possible problem. I just wasn't feeling it. Even after putting it on, I didn't care for it that much. THEN I added some extras (something Stitch Fix highly encourages!). I first added my Ada Wrap belt. It made it slightly more fitted which I really liked. Then I tried it with boots (I'm really trying to think fall with my purchases). It was a hit! I instantly loved it. She is now a keeper.

Item #3 - Priya Graphic Chevron Print Mixed Material Tank $54 - I really liked this, but again the colors just didn't quite it the mark. It was very cute and fit just right, but knowing I was going to get the chevron dress, I just couldn't do both. I thought it was a little pricey for what it was. I would rather spend a little extra on a nice dress or fancy blouse.

Item #4 Hilly Crochet Detail Chevron Print Tank $44 - Although the price was more my speed, this top was a no-go. I didn't like the colors or the crochet. I didn't like how the tank came on the shoulders so that your bra straps are oddly exposed. This was a pass.

Item #5 Mariena Abstract Print Tab Sleeve Blouse $48 - Again this price was a little better, but the print on this was just awful. It was green mixed with cream and kind of a salmon/peach color. It kind of reminded me of throw up. The fit was good and I really like shirts of this style! This one was just not it.

So, again I only kept one item out of five, but does that mean I give up hope?! No way! I give detailed feedback of each and every item when I check out (this is where you tell them what you are buying and sending back). They ask specific questions like if the item was too small/too big/just right or how you liked the style. I also adjust my style profile to try to make it exactly ME! One thing I learned from my first Fix is that you can even link your account to a Pinterest board - your stylist will take a look at your "clothing" board when putting together your box! Sending back items is SO simple. They just plop into the pre-paid bag that they give you, and it will be in my mailbox in the morning!

Click on the picture below if you'd like to try Stitch Fix! This link goes to my referral code, so I will get a credit when your first fix ships. :)

Just try it out for one month, why not?!
