I've been bad.. real bad.

I think I have finally scored a job in the new area where we live and, so what's a girl to do? Shop of course! The hubby doesn't know yet (shhhh!).. but I'm so excited to get them in! I have recently discovered Instashopping and couldn't be more obsessed! If you don't know what Instagram is, you're very much missing out! My dear friend Just A Primary Girl turned me on to Instagram, and I have been able to open up to so many new teachers! It is definitely the easiest social media site to use. I never thought I would like it; I'm usually not a picture taker. But I wanted to become one, and Instagram is helping me do it!

Instashopping was discovered from my other dear instagram friend, little_miss_teacher, who showed off some instagram sellers. Sellers post (usually) nightly with new items - some are new and some are gently used. Good sellers sell JCrew, The Limited and other awesome brands - for CHEAP! Like new JCrew popover top for $15?! Yes please! Here's some of my recent splurges:

The jean vest and floral scarf are from Target, they're having BOGO 50% all clothing and accessories! I also scored two pairs of Mossimo ballet flats. They're great (and you can't beat $25 for two pairs of shoes!). The bubble necklace is from GroopDealz and ALL profits go to a non profit for human trafficking! I got two of them :)

The other items are from Instagramers - search highlowchicscloset, calebs_momshop, and relovedthreads. I also love shopjennscloset and _shoplbcloset! Go check them out, they still have great things! I couldn't buy everything after all.. you probably wouldn't see any more Instagram or blog posts. Love ya hubby! ;)

I'm gearing up for this; are you?!

Monday, Monday, Made it Monday!

Hey ya'll! I have some exciting news.. a new Linky! I found this one from 4th Grade Frolics. I've "made" lots of things lately, although not all have pictures (have I mentioned I'm the worst at documenting things?!). Instragram is slowly breaking me out of my shell on that.

I made two new products, updated one, and made a bundle! My Sentence Detectives has been a baby of mine, and has been rather popular, so I expanded on the idea!

{Sight Word Detectives} - Kindergarten Pre-Primer Sight Wo  {Sentence Detectives} - Kindergarten Sentence Worksheets  {Picture Detectives} - Kindergarten Pre-Primer Sight Word

These worksheets cover everything from sight words to phonics to reading and even a little math!

{Detectives BUNDLE} - Sight Word and Sentence practice worksheets

Pictures above are all linked to my TpT store. :)

Chicken Bombs. My family loves them!!

These. Are. My. New. Obsession. BBQ sauce, bacon, cream cheese, and jalapenos.. you can't go wrong! They are called chicken bombs and relatively easy to make. They actually stay together (problems I often have with stuffed items) and don't explode! We do them on the grill, making for less clean up. I've made them twice in the last week. They are so good!

Lastly, I have joined a giveaway which will start TOMORROW! It's from Second Grade Stampede!

Have a great week!

Pinspired Thursday - Linky Party!

I'm teaming up with the lovely Just A Primary Girl's blog for this Thursday's Pinspired linky party! Can I brag, I prepared myself for this one!? Here we go!

This one is from a delish recipe I've had pinned for a while, Queso Taco Pasta Bake. Now, if anyone knows me, they know that I secretly wish I was an old Hispanic woman in Mexico that could whip up dishes like tamales and enchiladas in a snap. Unfortunately, I'm not. My obsession with Mexican food drives my husband batty, but I just can't get enough!

Queso Taco Pasta Bake! Great weeknight dinner with a homemade queso sauce!

Can I get an amen?!

I started by making my cheese sauce. This required butter, flour, LOTS of cheddar cheese, chicken stock and salsa (Herdez salsa is the best!). Ooey, gooey deliciousness.

Next, I sauteed my onions for about 5 minutes and then added the garlic, ground beef and seasonings.

I also got the pasta cooking around this time. I love the fun tri-colored pasta, and I think they add great extra flavor!

Once everything is done, you combine it together (the beef mixture, pasta and gorgeous queso sauce) in a large baking dish. The recipe said to top with more cheese (yum!) and I also added some panko bread crumbs for extra crunch! Here's a before and after from the oven!

The boys approved. And so did I!

The queso sauce was devine, and the crispy crunchy addition of the panko made it PERFECT! It was so good, and make for even better leftovers the next day. The recipe is here.

Do you have a food obsession like I do?! Try out this recipe and tell me what you think! :)

Let's Talk About Books - Linky Party!

Hey ya'll!

So, I think (hope!) things are finally starting to settle down around here and I am able to create/blog/think about my internet life! We have been working day and night on random home projects and are very happy with the results! Here's a few of the DIYs and home improvements we've tackled:

From left to right:
Our TV mount - When we bought our house, it had a TV niche above the fireplace. Our 60" TV wouldn't fit! So, hubby had to rig together a masterpiece. We took 2x6s and anchored a TV mount onto that to put the it on. It hasn't fallen down yet! *crosses fingers*
Our new faucet - I'm in LOVE! Not that our old one was bad or anything, but we wanted a nice, updated one with a on-faucet sprayer.
A shower door - We worked ALL Sunday afternoon on this beast, but it looks great!
Our new bedroom set! - The hubby (aka Frugal McFrugal) wouldn't dare pay to have the furniture delivered and put together for us, so we had to build it! Most of it was very easy and only the bed was what really had to be put together. It is from Ashley Furniture and we got a killer deal from their Memorial Day sale!

But enough of boring home improvements... Here's a linky party! This one comes from Mrs. Jump's Class. I orginally saw it via Teaching with Crayons and Curls' instagram!

We're talking about some of our favorite read alouds! I don't know about ya'll, but in our school district, read alouds were ground into our brains. Picking books came naturally to me and I have SO many favorites it's hard to pick one, but I'm going to pick a new one I just found. You know I am one of the biggest animal lovers you'll ever meet, so of course my favorite books have some sort of animal theme.

This book is about a little dog who loves his fancy shoes but soon discovers that these fancy shoes don't let him do is daily doggy tasks like digging and running! All of the different shoes he tries - from flippers to high heels - don't help him! Soon he discovers that the perfect shoes are ones he already has. :)

So cute, no?! Click on the picture to find it on Amazon!
